The Central Oregon Youth Orchestra is seeking a motivated Executive Director with outstanding communication and project management skills who will contribute to a positive, youth centered, music education environment. The Executive Director supports students and families in the program, secures venues for rehearsals and performances, and collaborates with other regional youth programs to enhance COYO’s mission and outreach.

Summary of the Executive Director Position
The COYO Executive Director oversees the overall execution of COYO’s mission in the provision of ensemble training opportunities during a yearly programming season (September - May) as well as enrichment opportunities during the off-season when possible. The Executive Director manages and directs the operational work of orchestral conductors, sectional coaches, contractual staff, and
volunteers. The Executive Director supports students and families in the program, secures venues for rehearsals and performances, and collaborates with other regional youth programs to enhance COYO’s mission and outreach. The Executive Director focuses on expanding COYO’s activities in order to build relationships with local and regional organizations, and to educate them about COYO’s mission and the opportunities it provides. The Executive Director helps guide COYO in its goal of providing a vital and accessible program for the musical education of youth in Central Oregon, and assisting in developing COYO’s future vision alongside its Board of Directors in a holistic manner.
Candidates who feel that their skill sets do not match all the listed qualifications described above are encouraged to consider applying as we evaluate candidates holistically. This contractual part-time position answers to the COYO Board of Directors and compensation is based on qualifications and experience. The Executive Director must be able to work evenings and/or weekend hours. This position
